Hello and welcome,

I founded DigiRAW in 2012 when my search for a DVD ripping service hit a brick wall. With a young family and multiple iPad's, iPhones and Apple TVs, I wanted to get my colossal DVD and Blu-ray collection backed-up and playing on all our screens.

I wanted outstanding visual quality and passthrough surround sound. I needed Blu-ray to retain its HD status, 3D to deliver and file sizes not too small, but not overly large either!

We're in a fantastic digital era, and we're encouraged to buy all the latest gadgets, so it's not surprising that demand to protect, future-proof and play our home media collections on all our "today and tomorrow" devices is high.

Take my collection, for example; I have spent over £10,000 building my library since the first DVD release, so the thought of boxing them up and never playing them again as the DVD player slowly declines was an unsavoury option!

I did buy a few new releases online before starting DigiRAW, but I equally disliked being tied to a specific brand. For some people that's fine, but for the majority one brand forever is unattractive! I wanted future proof!
With a sizeable investment and six months perfecting a unique disc-to-digital solution, I launched DigiRAW …and so far it has been a remarkable journey!

Many of our customers attempted the DIY ripping route and discovered off-the-shelf software seldom satisfies their whole library and can be over-complicated to use. They also learn that one, often underpowered computer, will take forever to complete their entire collection.

One click-to-rip software also has its challenges because the files are either too large or too small with overzealous compression resulting with poor quality viewing. Audio options can be hit and miss too. And to complete your experience, you will need to embed metadata (cover art, descriptions, seasons, episodes, genre and more) to make title selection easier and more enjoyable.
For the DIY enthusiast, metadata tagging is a whole new ball game to adopt, and unless you embed this information within the container file, as an iTunes user, should you change PC or endure hardware failure, you'll have to do it all over again!

For Apple device and iTunes users, parental viewing controls only work when ratings (U, PG, 12 etc.) are coded directly to the file.

Just like my team and me our customers (you) demand a tip-top result.

If you haven't already, now might be a great time to download our mp4 samples!

Best wishes
Chris Rayner
