Collectors need access.
Many classic films, specialist releases, foreign titles, boxsets and hard-to-find editions are unavailable on mainstream streaming services, or appear and disappear without warning.
Convert your DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD discs into a beautifully organised digital library for Plex, Infuse, Emby, Jellyfin, Kodi, home cinema systems and private media servers.
MP4 for flexible playback. Lossless MKV for full-quality preservation. Structured, named and prepared properly by DIGIRAW since 2012.
DIGIRAW prepares the discs you already own, and can also help source selected titles for larger libraries into a clean, structured digital collection, ready to browse, search and play across your chosen media system.
Streaming is convenient, but ownership still matters. Films disappear, subscriptions multiply, specialist titles can be difficult to find, and compressed online versions rarely show what a good home cinema system can really do.
Streaming is useful, but it is not the same as controlling your own collection.
Many classic films, specialist releases, foreign titles, boxsets and hard-to-find editions are unavailable on mainstream streaming services, or appear and disappear without warning.
Blu-ray and 4K UHD discs can deliver far higher visual and audio quality than compressed online versions, especially in serious home cinema environments.
A properly prepared digital library keeps your chosen films and shows accessible through your own media system, without relying on subscription availability.
Simple for small orders, structured for serious private libraries.

Don’t forget to include your home-recorded DVDs too. DIGIRAW has a dedicated Home Videos service, so family recordings, camcorder DVDs, weddings and personal discs can be handled correctly as part of the same order.
Some people still search for this as a DVD ripping service, Blu-ray ripping service, 4K UHD ripping service or disc-to-digital ripping service.
At DIGIRAW, we prefer to describe it more accurately as disc-to-digital library preparation, because the real value is not just conversion, it is the way your films and shows are named, structured and prepared for modern playback.
Whether you need MP4 files for flexible viewing, lossless MKV files for preservation, or a complete library prepared for Plex, Infuse, Emby, Jellyfin or Kodi, the service is built around how you want to watch.
Useful answers before sending your DVD, Blu-ray or 4K UHD collection to DIGIRAW.
MP4 is ideal for flexible everyday playback, smaller file sizes and easy streaming across common devices. Our MP4 files are carefully prepared to remove unnecessary data you do not normally see, while still delivering excellent visible quality for most screens and viewing rooms.
MKV is best when you want preservation. It retains the original video, audio and subtitle tracks where supported by the disc, with no recompression.
Yes, but we describe it more accurately as disc-to-digital library preparation. DIGIRAW converts DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD discs into digital MP4 or MKV files, then prepares them with clear naming and structure for modern playback.
Yes. We convert DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD discs. Blu-ray can be converted to HD where supported by the source disc, and 4K UHD can be preserved in 4K where supported by the disc and your playback setup.
Not as standard. Our normal service covers the main feature film or TV show episodes.
Bonus material, special features and extras can be converted by special arrangement. Let us know which titles matter to you and we can check them during the audit. Extra material is often time-consuming to identify and process, so it can increase both price and lead time.
Yes. Original discs are returned as standard after conversion.
No. The digital files are prepared for your own private use from discs you own. If you sell, give away or dispose of the original discs, you should also delete the digital copies.
The files must not be sold, uploaded to public websites, shared publicly, or used for piracy. DIGIRAW’s service is about helping you enjoy your own private collection in a modern way.
Yes. Files can be named and structured for media-server recognition across common systems including Plex, Infuse, Emby, Jellyfin and Kodi.
Files can be supplied by USB storage drive or secure cloud download, depending on the size and nature of the order. Cloud download is suitable for many orders, but very large libraries are usually better supplied on a USB hard drive.
USB drives are normally formatted as exFAT for both Mac and Windows compatibility. NTFS can be used by request for Windows-only use. FAT32 is not suitable because of its 4GB file size limit.
We hold completed digital files for 30 days after delivery. After that, files will be removed from our systems, so we strongly recommend keeping your own backup.
Small orders are usually completed quickly, often within a few working days once received. Larger collections depend on disc count, format choice, current workload and any special instructions.
For large private libraries, we will give a clearer lead time after reviewing the order details.
For larger orders over £1,000, collection and return may be available within the South West or within roughly 100 miles of DIGIRAW. Please contact us first so we can confirm what is practical.
Yes, by appointment. We are always happy to arrange a suitable time for local drop-off or collection where practical.
Payment is usually handled by invoice. You do not need a PayPal account to pay a PayPal invoice by card. Bank transfer is also available.
For larger or specialist orders, payment details will be confirmed before work begins.
No. DVD regions such as 1, 2 and 3, and Blu-ray regions A, B and C, can normally be handled. 4K UHD discs are generally not region-specific.
We check discs before conversion and clean them where needed. Light scratches can often be handled, but badly damaged discs may not always be recoverable.
If an order needs unusually heavy cleaning or preparation, we will let you know before adding any extra charge.
Yes. DIGIRAW has helped customers internationally, although shipping costs, customs arrangements and return logistics need to be considered before sending discs from outside the UK.
Yes. Home-recorded DVDs, camcorder discs, weddings and family recordings can be included. DIGIRAW also has a dedicated Home Videos service for customers whose order is mainly family memories.
Commercially classified titles for private personal use can be handled. Personal recordings, illegal material or unclassified “under the counter” content will not be accepted.
Start with a small order, or speak to DIGIRAW about a larger private film and TV library. All original discs are safely returned after conversion.
