DIGIRAW is a family-run media preservation studio helping people turn old discs, film collections, music libraries and archive media into modern digital files they can actually use, enjoy and trust.
A disc can be a wedding film, a child's birthday, a favourite boxset, a rare recording, a private film library, a training archive or a collection built over decades.
To us, that is never just plastic and data. It is memory, ownership, taste, history and personal value. DIGIRAW exists because those things deserve better than being left in a drawer until the player disappears, the disc fails or nobody remembers what is on it.
We help customers preserve disc-based media properly, with clear advice, careful handling and digital files prepared for the way people actually watch, listen and manage collections today.
Good conversion is not just about creating a file. It is about making sure the file still makes sense years from now.
DIGIRAW standardDIGIRAW began in 2012, before disc-to-digital became a familiar phrase in the UK. The idea was simple: physical media should not become useless just because the devices around it changed.
What started with a deep interest in home media systems, digital libraries and careful file preparation grew into a specialist service trusted by families, collectors, private clients, AV professionals and organisations.
Fourteen years on, the name is still here because the work still matters. The market has changed. Streaming has exploded. Devices have come and gone. But people still want control over the media they care about.
DIGIRAW is family-run, hands-on and growing. Chris leads the business, customer communication and project direction, while Jake, his son, has joined the studio and is already helping shape the next stage of DIGIRAW with fresh ideas, sharp attention to detail and a naturally client-focused way of working.
That matters to us. This is not a faceless processing operation, but it is not a hobby either. We are building a specialist media preservation studio with high standards, clear systems and a warm, human approach.
Some clients want us to be professional, discreet and quietly efficient. Others enjoy the process and see us as part of their downtime, their cinema room project, their music library, their family archive or their private collection. We are comfortable with both, and we relish every opportunity that comes our way.
For many customers, this is not boring admin. It is pleasure, memory, ownership and the joy of making a collection usable again.
We are not trying to become a faceless processing warehouse. We are building something better: a specialist studio with enough structure to handle serious work, and enough humanity to remember why the work matters.
That balance is important whether we are converting a family DVD, preparing a home cinema collection, organising a yacht library, ripping a CD archive or discussing a corporate project.
The aim is simple: make the process clear, handle the media carefully, and return files that are useful, organised and ready for modern life.
Chris is happy to connect with customers, collectors, AV professionals, media enthusiasts and people interested in DIGIRAW's work. If you send a connection request, please include a short note saying you found Chris through the DIGIRAW website and, if you would like to, a little about your media interests and plans.
Connect with Chris RaynerMost customers do not need technical waffle. They need to know what can be done, what format makes sense, how the discs will be handled and what they will receive back.
Discs are customer property, not stock. Whether personal or professional, they deserve careful handling.
Good files need sensible naming, formats and organisation so they remain useful long after delivery.
We explain MP4, MKV, ALAC, media servers, USB delivery and downloads in plain English.
We return original discs as standard and encourage customers to keep the media they own.
Files should work with how people actually watch and listen today: TVs, tablets, media servers, NAS systems and more.
Private memories, rare collections and discreet libraries require consistency, care and common sense.
DIGIRAW works across the personal, private and professional sides of media preservation. Different customers arrive for different reasons, but the goal is usually the same: make valuable media easier to access, enjoy and protect.
The work may be technical, but the reason people choose DIGIRAW is usually human. They want confidence. They want the job done properly. They want someone to care enough to ask the right questions.
Tell us what you have found and what you would like to do with it. We will help you work out whether it can be saved, converted, organised or rebuilt for modern life.
