DIGIRAW Terms & Conditions

Clear terms for disc-to-digital services.

These terms explain how DIGIRAW handles orders, payments, disc condition, delivery, cancellations, file retention, private-use guidance and the return of original media.

Plain English Summary

Before the formal wording, here is what this really means.

DIGIRAW exists to help customers preserve, modernise and manage disc-based media. These terms are designed to keep the process fair, clear and controlled for both sides.

The formal terms below apply when you use this website, submit an enquiry, place an order, send media to us, ask us to source discs, or use any DIGIRAW disc-to-digital service.

If anything is unclear before you send discs, please contact us first. We would rather clarify the project before media is posted than guess later.

In simple terms

  • You send us discs you own or are authorised to submit.
  • We prepare them professionally for modern playback.
  • We take care handling your media.
  • If a disc is too damaged to process, you are not charged for that disc.
  • Home video projects are normally paid for when complete.
  • Films, shows and music disc projects are normally invoiced before conversion begins.
  • Your original discs are returned as standard.
  • Your digital files are supplied for private use.
  • Completed files are retained temporarily for safety, then deleted.

1. About DIGIRAW

These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of www.digiraw.com and to any services provided by DIGIRAW.

DIGIRAW is a UK-based disc-to-digital service provider operating under the DIGIRAW brand.

Correspondence address:
DIGIRAW

All correspondence and enquiries should be made via the Contact page on our website.

By using this website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Our services

DIGIRAW provides professional disc-to-digital preparation services, including:

  • DVD conversion
  • Blu-ray conversion
  • 4K UHD disc preparation
  • CD audio extraction and tagging
  • Structured digital file preparation for modern playback

We prepare digital files from physical discs supplied by you or sourced on your behalf.

We do not provide access to digital streaming libraries or distribute digital content independently of physical media.

3. Authority to submit media

By submitting media to DIGIRAW, you confirm that:

  • You own the discs; or
  • You have lawful authority or permission to supply them for processing, for example when acting for a family member, employer, organisation, vessel or client.

We may refuse to process media where we reasonably believe it is counterfeit, stolen, unlawfully obtained or submitted without authority.

4. Orders and payment

4.1 Home video projects

For personal home video projects, payment is normally requested once your order has been completed and is ready for delivery. We will confirm the final amount before requesting payment.

4.2 Film, television and music disc projects

For commercial disc collections, including Films & Shows and music CD projects, discs are received and counted, a pro-forma invoice or invoice is issued, and work is scheduled once payment has been received, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Larger collections may need to be counted, checked, sorted by disc type, and reviewed for obvious duplicates, damaged discs or unsuitable media before the final billable quantity is confirmed.

4.3 Disc sourcing

Where requested, DIGIRAW may source physical discs on your behalf. In such cases:

  • You pay the retail price of the discs.
  • A sourcing or handling fee may apply.
  • Payment is required before purchase unless agreed otherwise.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your order at any time before processing begins.

If cancellation occurs after your discs have been received by DIGIRAW, you remain responsible for the reasonable cost of returning your discs, unless cancellation is due to an error caused by DIGIRAW.

If processing has commenced, we may charge for work already completed.

6. Condition of discs

We handle all media with care. However:

  • Severely damaged, cracked or defective discs may not be recoverable.
  • We will not attempt processing if a disc may damage equipment.
  • If a disc cannot be successfully processed due to condition, you will not be charged for that disc’s conversion.

7. Turnaround times

Any turnaround times provided are estimates.

Delays may occur due to:

  • Volume of orders
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Courier disruption
  • Force majeure events

Where delays become significant, we will notify you.

8. File retention

DIGIRAW retains completed digital files for up to 30 days following delivery for contingency purposes.

After this period, files are permanently deleted without further notice.

You are responsible for backing up and securely storing your delivered files.

9. Delivery and returns

Original discs are returned as standard unless otherwise agreed.

We may use third-party postal or courier providers.

Where discs are lost or damaged due to proven negligence while in our possession, liability is limited to the lower of:

  • The original purchase value
  • £5 per disc

We do not accept liability for sentimental value or collector premiums.

Customers are responsible for securely packaging media when sending it to us.

10. Intellectual property and use

Digital files prepared by DIGIRAW are for your private and personal use only.

You must not:

  • Sell digital copies
  • Distribute digital copies
  • Upload digital copies to public platforms
  • Share digital copies commercially

You are responsible for complying with applicable copyright law.

DIGIRAW accepts no responsibility for unlawful use after delivery.

For Films & Shows collections, DIGIRAW recommends retaining your original discs for as long as you keep the corresponding digital files. Digital files are supplied as private-use versions of media you continue to own, not as public, shareable or resale copies.

11. Website use

You agree not to:

  • Introduce malicious software
  • Interfere with site functionality
  • Attempt unauthorised access

All website content is owned by DIGIRAW or licensed third parties and may not be reproduced without permission.

12. Privacy and data protection

We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Full details are set out in our Privacy Policy.

13. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for:

  • Fraud
  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Any liability that cannot legally be excluded

Subject to this, our total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the relevant order.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

14. Force majeure

We are not liable for delays or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.

Contact DIGIRAW before posting media if you are unsure which service applies, whether your discs are suitable, or how payment and delivery will work for your project.
